Siman – Reengineering the business in Central America

The Coronavirus pandemic had disastrous effects on the world at large. Still, for the brick-andmortar Siman chain of department stores in Central America, with 15 large department stores across El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, the pandemic accelerated the ongoing digital transformation journey the company had already embarked upon years earlier.

β€œIn just a short amount of time, we have transformed our business model from a pure brick and mortar one into a fully online digital one,” says Alejandro Choussy, Regional Logistics Manager for the Siman Group, a San Salvador, El Salvador-based company that recently celebrated 101 years in business.
