Prioritizing 5G for Healthcare SMBs

The rapid shift to remote work during the early days of the pandemic was a struggle for many smaller medical groups and outpatient clinics that lacked robust networking capabilities and IT staff to manage the transition to digital-first services. Today, forward-thinking healthcare small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are investing in 5G to support this shift in the healthcare landscape and to meet their business priorities.

According to IDC's Worldwide Small and Medium Business Survey (February 2022), 63% of U.S. healthcare SMB respondents (healthcare companies with 1–999 employees) listed improving mobile workers' experience and productivity by providing remote access to networked-based applications and cloud applications as a top priority. Additionally, nearly half (47%) indicated support for employee-owned devices as a priority and 47% seek to improve video-based communication and collaboration.
